It's hard to say that I was raised with a better internet, but I was certainly raised with one I would consider markedly different. During the time I have been meaningfully online, it's been difficult to watch the landscape shift more towards corporate interests, and further away from the (sometimes frightening) internet of my youth. I really don't want to make this "old man yells at cloud," but... you know. You've been out there, too.
At the same time, it's hard to say that I haven't gotten a pretty good end of the stick. My internet experience has been largely pleasant. I don't feel like I've lost the magic that made the internet something special. The old internet hasn't gone away, as much as it's kind of crammed itself under a rock. And if there's one thing I tend to be good at, it's jamming my little freak hands under a rock.
Anyways, welcome to me jamming my hands under a rock! Happy to have my arm crammed under this rock. Consider this whole maneuver to be some kind of internet diary.
